| One of my flying buddies just got one of the last Double Visions. He has just about finished putting it together but has a concern about the wing incidence and the engine thrust line. The engine has 2 degrees of up thrust. He is using a DA 50 engine. Does anyone know the correct incidence for the engine and wings? And why would you use up thrust ? Thanks, Jim Last edited by stroudj; 08-13-2007 at 09:33 PM. |

Some planes fly better with up-thrust. My 35% Yak needed three washers under the bottom bolts - in other words several degrees of up-thrust. Without this, the plane would dive under full power and climb when the power was pulled back. Upside down the plane would climb under full power and descend when the power was pulled back. I think it has to do with the thrust line being above the center of the plane

Well for most planes if it needs a certain direction of thrust I've known it to be built into the firewall. So I think that it should be okay.
