| As some of you are aware, I did some damage to my beloved Comp-Arf 260, when I made a meal out of a landing (arrival) at the Queensland Challange. ![]() The result was the undercarraige plate being broken out and the spat being shoved through the bottom of the wing! Bugger! Anyway stuff happens!! And if you try and park em like I did, something is going to break! So, just to let you that these things aren't the end of the world, and the repairs aren't that difficult, I thought I should show you the repairs so far. The first picture shows you the damage to the undercarraige plates (ouch)!! Nice job Richo . The first thing I did was to dremell away the glue around the rear ply plate and remove the rear verticle plate and the main plate. This was pretty easy really, you just needed to be a little carefull not to grind into the fuse. The 2nd picture shows the internals after the plates had been removed and the fuse cleaned up. It didn't take long to get to this stage. The 3rd picture is the new plates I made, you can buy these from Comp-Arf, but I didn't want to wait, and they were pretty straight forward to make. I simply traced around the parts I removed . Nice!!The remaing pictures show the new parts fitted and all glued up! I left it clamped up while the glue went off. Whacko! I have since bolted in the new leg and spat, and will clean up the damage to the outside of the fuse, and all will look like new!! Happy Days!I will repair the wing this week and post a few pic's later.
