Steven, If you want to learn 3D then look no further than the OMP 47" Edge 540 profile. Perfect for the 55AX with balistic power and the plane is extremely tough and can take lots of punishment. Fuselage has a fiberglass tube and is sheeted for maximum durabilty. Wings are two-piece for ease of transport or repairs. This plane was specifically designed to be a 3D trainer and is hugely popular. Available in kit or ARF. Check out http://www.ohiomodelplanes.com/47edgearf/ |

ohio model products.i fly 2 of there profiles.2 times better then anything you can get at lhs.easy phone call, fast shipping, most lhs 3d trainers are just to heavy(and side force generators doesent fix that)unless u can find a modle tech magic 3d,my ths always has them.point i am trying to make is,learning to fly stahl manuvers or 3d in the real world(not sim world)takes alot of practice,a great plane will only speed that up ,and kep the stall and snap crashing down.alot of people shy away from profiles do to apearance, trust me having a exposed engine, tank, fuel lines makes life very easy.bilaw #5 in the 3d handbook stats and i qoute -pritty planes do not fly good unless thay are 27% and above.check out some of the o.m.p videos

Steven: I installed my 55 ax in a OMP Yak (kit) profile. I loved the plane but unfortunately due to poor engineering on my part, the rudder control horn let loose and it was rekitted. Have put together a UCanDo 3D .46 size and will put the engine in it for the 2008 season. My comments concern the engine. I am an OS man through and through but am not completely satisfied with this engine yet (I had 89 flights on my rekitted Yak) It has great power, starts great, etc., etc. but on low speed, flying a light plane, it does not function to my satisfaction. I am going to use props with less pitch next year and try replacing the glow plug with a less cold one (I used the recommended OS #8 plug) I hope you do better than me. Would be interested on how you do with the .55 ax. . . Cheers - John M

Get the GP Reactor. It is a nice looking, awesome flying, inexpensive aircraft. A picky giant scale 3D pilot I know loves his! It will be a little more versatile then a profile in my opinion. 3D is great with rock solid harrier, hover, KE etc.

I just bought the OMP Boxxer ARF for my 55ax. I hope to get it out in the next week or so. I am not a foamy or electric kind of guy so this seems to fit the bill, a good 3D knock around bipe.
