OFFICIAL LAS VEGAS HUCKFEST AGENDA!


Hiya Crew!

With the Las Vegas Desert Aircraft/FlyingGiants Huckfest only a few weeks away, we wanted to let you know exactly what we're up to, and lay out the action we we're planning! The following is our tentative agenda for events, contests, and fun throughout the weekend.

Got a hot idea? Post it! This event is a celebration of modeling in the SouthWest with all our local FlyingGiants brethren. This is all about you guys, and we're working our butts off to make it rock!

So here we go!

FRIDAY 9-14-07

Registration will begin Friday morning at 8am, and our beloved Momo and FG Staff will be cranking pilots through the registration process. All registered pilots will receive a FlyingGiants bag-o-swag which will contain 2 FGVP DVD's, custom AeroGraphix vinyl graphics for both FG and DA, killer Huckfest event rudder vinyls, and other much needed fuel for flying.

Registration fee is $40.

VENDORS: Bring your awnings, and tables for setup on Friday.

The day will start with a pilots meeting promptly at 9am. Sammy, our beloved Contest Director will outline the ins and outs of Bennett field and our AMA safety requirements, we will honor our flag, and flying will commence.

Friday is going to be a general fun fly format.

Great music will be playing throughout the weekend for your enjoyment, compliments of the official FG Ipod mix!

At lunch time, we will all have a chance to grub on killer food provided by The LVRC Club members throwout the day which will include various tasty BBQ nibletts.

Noontime demos will begin at... You guessed it! Noon! Andrew Jesky, Mark Leseberg, Jeff and Matt Szueber, Jeremy "Toro" Billeaudeaux, and Eric Powell will be our headliners among others that we're still waiting commitment on (ZAK!!!).

The rest of the day will be open flying till dark. We are planning a group dinner/event in Henderson for afterhours activities that will be family friendly. We are considering bowling at this time, stay tuned for more information on this.

Saturday 9-15

THIS IS THE BIG DAY! DON'T MISS SATURDAY!

Pilot registration will continue Saturday morning.

Pilot meeting at 9am followed by fun fly.

Throughout the morning we will be putting on some very cool contests that you'll LOVE! We will have a pool setup on the field for rudder dips, a water balloon popping contest, along with airborne balloon pops - all for prizes provided from our growing list of sponsors. These contests will run throughout the day before and after the noontime demo. We have some great surprises we're going to pull out to keep the tempo fast along with minimal interruption of the flight line.

Food, noontime demos will commence at noon. Our lineup on Saturday will be similar, with a few additions of local heli pilots.

After lunch, the funfly schedule will continue with more micro-contests, with prizes from our sponsors.

As the sun goes down, the real fun will begin. We have DW Foamies from San Diego coming in to sponsor a Foamy contest like no other! Our friend Mike Morgan has put together a Foamy obstacle coarse that is second to none. With a bunch of PVC pipe, coupled with redneck robotics, we will have a foamy "gauntlet" designed for our pilots to exhibit their flying skills! Mike is setting up 2 courses, one for basic, and another for advanced. Winners of the contest will grab his awesome new BAF yak designed by Pedro Brantuas, and electronic components to the winners. All of this will take place under the illumination of "Freeway" construction lights... Yes, the big ones!

After the DW Foamies gauntlet, Dave Johnson from Desert Aircraft has an AMAZING and TOP SECRET contest which he will be hosting. I'm not going to say anything more about this, but know that there will be some serious prizes on the line. Completely unconventional, and you'll be floored.

After DJ's contest, we will be handing out award plaques for pilots who achieved the amazing during the weekend from the minds of The FG Staff.

COMPLIMENTARY PIZZA DINNER AND BEVERAGE TIME!! All on FG!

While we're chompin', we'll begin the official Huckfest raffel. We have over $5,000 worth of goodies up for grabs!!! Don't forget to get your tickets!!

For the rest of the evening, we'll have the music playing, and the lights buzzin for foam flying. DO NOT FORGET TO BRING YOUR FOAM! The evenings of The Las Vegas Huckfest will be even more fun than the day.

Sunday 9-16

Pilots meeting, Pledge of Allegiance, and flying. Lunch will be provided as well, similar to Friday. Noontime demos, and Huckfest wrapup.


This is our schedule folks. We're not going nutzo with hype here, but know that when we do anything, we do it BIG! And on a side note, this is yours truly's hometown homecoming. Come on out. It's gonna be a blast.

I'll be flying in on the early morning Friday flight (often called the stripper flight). I'll be helping Mike from DWFoamies all weekend. This is going to rock!

Guys, I will miss Friday, but will be there Saturday noon sometime. I will possibly have a new 90 heli out there ??? whaaaaattttttt???? I will have to miss the first half due to my little guy (4 year old) having his first soccer game that day. Thank god its only about 4 hours away. So I will bomb it out there when Im all done with his game.
