Default Private Red Bull Show

So, my wife's horse got colic today. This is a very serious thing, and he could easily die. One thing we had to do was keep walking him so he can't lay down. All afternoon we were walking him up and down the ranch. Walking a sick horse, with a really upset wife, can get pretty stressful. I'd had about enough, when I heard it.
The scream of aerobatic plane motors. I look up and directly over the ranch were 4 Edges 540s. Apparently they were had just taken off from the Naval Airbase right down the road from the ranch. I think they were either practicing for next week's air races down here in San Diego, or doing some sort of press event. They were doing high speed runs, an fantastic aerobatic maneuvers. I can't express how impressive these planes were. One thing that really surprised me was the roll rate they are capable of. I always thought that our models performed much more radical maneuvers that full scale could do. Not so, these things are amazing. They put on a show for about half an hour, then landed. It took the "Edge" (pun intended) off the day for me. Amazing how the world works!
In any case, if you are on the fence about coming down for the races next weekend. Make sure you get here. You have to see these amazing planes and pilots. It looks to me like the North Embarcadero will have the best viewing, so buy your tickets for that area.
The vet came down and did some unspeakable things to the horse. We're hopeful he will be OK, but we may be up with him all night. See you guys at the races next week!

Wow, That would have taken the drudgery out of walking the horse I'm sure.

Hope he gets better so you can claim your rights to go to the Red Bull air races as compensation.

As for what vets do, I rather prefer not to look.

Dude, his arm disappeared up to his shoulder, and he was pulling "stuff" out by the hand full. I got to get that image out of my mind.

Great, now you gave it to me

I know how it feels to be under "Airshow Center" (besides the fact that I live right under one of DFW's glideslopes).

Where I used to live between Austin and Houston, we were DIRECTLY underneath the flightpath of T-38 trainers that would scream over a few times a week right above the treetops
