Is there a website that shows the yearly predictions of wind? We want to put the field in correct.

Look on www.airnav.com and look up airports in your area. See what direction the main runways are going and copy those. Although, don't forget about the sun direction too. I'd rather fly with a little bit of crosswind than be staring into the sun all day.

I would say that the Sun is a more important consideration. If you face North while flying and the field runs east to west you will never be blinded by the light.

You might try www.intellicast.com, www.aviationwether.gov, www.accuwx.com, www.weather.gov, You can also google wind direction averages by state, and get a long list of sources there. |
