The FlyingGiants Crew is FULL ON REDBULL AIR RACE! RBAR Press pass backstage pass enabled ala Wayne's World, we're goin' BIG in San Diego! Our beloved credentials will give us the opportunity to bring back LIVE coverage of the event, from the best seats in the house! Ya, we're cool. Chicks dig us model airplane dorks. Soooooo.. Thursday was a great time! Today was essentially a practice day on the course, and we watched all 13 pilots wring out the course, and all of the safety contingent practice their rescue operations. Not ever witnessing air races like this before, the experience was off the hook. It's hard to believe how fast these guys fly through the gates, and truly how tight this course is. We're estimating it's about 1/4 mile wide total. Enjoy today's photo flood, tomorrow we'll be pumping back tons of goodies from our delux media accomodations, and we've decided to forgo the live webcast as our corporate attorney Robert Shapiro is currently tied up with OJ. Normally the races are televised on FSN Sunday night. I'm not sure if they will show this Sunday or not. They don't televise them live, too much down time between pairs. Great vids, Max and crew, thanks for bringing this to us!!

Did any of you see what Mike Mangold did to get DQ'd from the session. The RBAR sight only say's “dangerous flying“. I WANT TO SEE THAT!!!!!

SICK SICK SICK!!! But I have to say I am slightly disappointed because I watch the promos on TV and you have the in cockpit views and the music and the quick cut editing and it really gets you pumped up. But I am sure seeing this on video doesn't do it justice as opposed to in person. And I am surprised there is hardly any crowd reaction. When I was covering drag racing with thousands of people in the stands you always had people cheering. Don't get me wrong because what these guys are doing is nuts and exciting... I just figured there would be more crowd participation. Is it just nobody is really there cause it's practice? jp |
