Default My Airport Job

Well since I am a senior this year in high school I only go three classes then I go to the city airport to work for youth apprenticeship program. Yesterday was my first day and so far I love it. My title is a Linesman. First day I cut grass and I just cut grass and watched planes take off and land. Today I put a twin engine jet in the hanger. And also filled a VERY nice turbo prop twin with gas. If we dont have grass to cut or yard work the job is easy. The rest of the time your waiting for a plane to come in to have it fuel. Was wondering if anyone else had a job similar.

yeah, I was a lineman for a week. My boss was an ass and fired me for doing the av gas fuel check first, going to the hanger to write down the numbers, and going back out to do the jet-a fuel checks. He wanted me to do both THEN go back to the hanger. Besides my boss, everyone was really nice and I enjoyed my time their and got to fly with one of the younger instructers.

My brother got a job out at the local airport that lasted for only one plane. So I asked him what the problem was and he told me to really check out an and all job classification before starting any job. So I asked him what job he put in for. HE said it was for prop stopper, and thats why it only lasted thru one plane.

Kevin,
Do me a favor when you go into work tomorrow ask the boss if he could spare 40 feet of flight line or a bottle of prop wash, he will know what I'm talking about and you can give it to me next time I see you. I would really appreciate it!!

I was a lineman for quite a while. I had a lot of fun with the job, met some wonderful people. Hope it's the same for you.
