Default Stab location

I'm currently designing a 48" Slick 540 for a project for my drafting class. On the real plane, the stab is located just above the wing. On my design, however, I've moved it below the wing in order to keep the back end neater. What sort of difference does it make to have it above or below the wing? Thanks!

Default Re: Stab location

The stab is located above the wing to keep it out of the downwash. By moving it down, you lose stab/elevator effectiveness.
