Arrived at Timpa 6.45am to find the place buzzing with the excitement of what was coming. After a night of repairing/panel beating a canopy into shape, then doing a retro fit of Bogan's canopy onto Chrisbchips 260, we were full of aprehension. Pilots brief was conducted then the sweet sound of engines broke the hub bub of voices. Lots of fantastic flying, first round of Intermediate resulted in a total of 100 points between 1st and 8th. After a very unsettling day with both Aussie aircraft involved in separate mid-air collisions, it was great to get the first round behind all clear, and awesome to see Chrisbie in 2nd only some 44 odd points behind in the Unlimited field, and Troy only 100 off the pace in Intermediate. Mikey Bargman put in a blinder in round 1 and well up the field. So far day 1 has been incident free, the weather is awesome and we are just now wrapping up round 2 of the classes, then it's into the invitational field for the afternoon, more results/reports as it all unfolds. Stay tuned.

Here's some more cool stuff...Everyone remembers the issues Super Dave was having with his motor, well it was finally determined the original issue that was diagnosed was the culprit afterall. Carbon deposits, from a little over 1000 flights, wasn't able to be removed completely by previous methods. The only way to completely remove these deposits was to pull the jugs and clean it right. The motor started acting up in the first flight of the day, after he landed he was told to bring the to the DA tent. I went over there after a couple of minutes and shot some pics of Dave Johnson and crew doing a thorough service on Super Daves motor...TALK ABOUT SERVICE!!! The last pic is of the inside of one of the jugs before the cleaning.
