Saturday morning and the fun continues!!!

Hey ya'all!!

The Flying Giants are taking over the TAS!! We have a ton of members here and I've heard nothing but good things from everyone. You wouldn't believe the flying ability of the pilots here. The winds yesterday ended up kicking up dramatically, somewhere between 20 and 30 mph with gusts a whole lot stronger. As you've probably heard we started take offs and landings using seperate ends of the field, with most of even the Invitational pilots opting to land across the runway, rolling out on the dirt at the West end.

Today the wind has changed directions this morning, coming directly in our face at between 10 and 15 mph with gusts to 20+. The AMA classes are done, obviously we don't have scores until the awards ceremony. Now for the info on the Invitational group...They are currently in the middle of the the first round, their Unknown. Next will be a round of Freestyle and after that will be the round of Knowns. They will be flying the Known B for today's competition.

After the 15 Invitational competitors are done for today, and the scores tallied, the field will be reduced to 10 for tomorrow, the final day. For those that haven't had a chance to see these guys fly, you're missing one of the finest displays of control in adverse conditions you will ever witness.

Hey, I know those two jokers in the pictures. Good people!!! It's good to see Rick up there flying with the big boys.

Brother you have done a heck of a job covering Tuscon this year. I can't remember a better year for being keeped up on what is currently going on. I know it's got to be cutting down on your social time up there. I just wanted to say a big thanks!!!!!!!!

We didn't do a live feed this year. We currently have the video from today encoding and will start uploading vids soon.
