RCCD flying field, Lenox, MI

After hearing about all of the trouble some guys are having finding and keeping their flying fields, I felt compelled to show off our site. It's no secret that we need to count our blessings, since this field is within the parameters of a state park. If anybody has dealt with state government they would understand the hoops you have to jump through to keep a field of this magnitude.

Following is a sattelite view of our field, runway is about 300' x 1200' of groomed grass.

thats cool, the field I fly at is also in a state park, very nice, except for the fact that we can't park next to the strip, we have to walk and drag our planes and gear the length of a football feild, oh well, small price to pay

I could tell you how to get there, but I doubt that you could find it, it's way out in the boonies. You know how you city folk are, you can't follow directions that include, "take a left at the first barn you see".

I did take a left at the first barn I saw. The problem was, after that you told me to turn right at the third silo. What the hell is a silo?

It's one of those big round things with a kind of dome on top, it likes a big...oh, never mind.

Hi Ken, you could land a full scale aircraft on your field... SWEET. I could only imagine the difficulties with state Gov regulations. I got kicked out of our local metro parks, flying an electric shock flyer, they treated myself and a friend like we were planning a bomb threat... I fly at a converted BFI dump site WELL, at least there's grass

O.k. now I know what a silo is. Just one more question. After I make a right after the third silo, you said to turn left into the driveway that has the leanto at the end of it. Not sure what a leanto is.
