Katana specs

I'm trying to find out how scale a set of Katana plans I have are. Can anyone tell me how long and what the wing span of the real Katana T30 is?

Judging from those 3 views, I would say that most model Katanas are FAR from scale, especially in the side area of the fuselage.

It would be interesting to look at some of the planes being flown in IMAC. I would not be surprised if most would fail the 10% rule.

dont get me started with some of the katana's out there, you NCFR guys know. ive flipped about them. but dont worry, my Katana will be very scale, it wont have counter-balances, like all the others do. which fails the 10% rule. just like the 260's with counter-balances. or the wing faring, but enough of my ranting.

I have to imagine that someone built a scale model of xxxx airplane. Someone else took it and stretched it 10% to fly IMAC. Then, someone else stretched it some more, etc etc. No one strecthed it more than 10% at a time, but no one bothered to start with a scale 3view except the original person.

I'd have to go back and look at the scale aerobatic (IMAC) rules, but I believe it states that the control surface hinge lines and such DON'T have to be scale, and I read this to mean that counterbalances are ok. It is the overall scale outline that must meet the 10% rule.

In another message thread somewhere, someone mentioned that split ailerons (inboard and outboard ailerons) are not allowed, but I don't remember reading anything about that in the rules either. I've thought about setting up a plane for IMAC where only the outboard portion is used for sequence, the inboard is only used for 3D.

At the IMAC events (local) that I have been to, no one ever questions the 10% rule on any model, as long as it looks like a full scale plane. The only thing they might look for is a pilot figure and instrument panel.

i heard it was illegal for something for the 260's to have counter-ballances. the same should go for the katana. but what about the wing faring. some of the models out there barely have something that resembles a faring, and that dosent fit the 10% rule.
