Anyone built the new 120" Yak ARF from QQ? What do you think about it? I'm considering one and looking for thoughts on this ARF?

Thanks

I'm building one for myself right now. So far I must say that the quality is unmatched. Everything has been really thought out to the last detail. Quique told me that if you like the 102in Yak then you will love this one. The new Python is incredible as well. I flew mine in 30mph wind today and was laughing so hard I coulden't see my plane. You can't go wrong here!

Thanks for the info! I think that I'm going to pull the trigger, and get one. What scheme did you get? How does it look...lines flow alright? and covering in nice shape? Have you weighed any of the parts, and is 38-39 pounds doable with 9 servos, and a bit of attention to the build?

Thanks

Jim

Jim,

Covering is excellent! No problems what so ever. Weight with a little attention and you mentioned 9 servos, stock muffler can be around 40-40 1/2 lbs. I am not sure sure of 38-39. I have unlimited vertical with snaps at 42 lbs with tuned pipe.

Plane is an excellent flyer! I can't imagine anything can get better. This plane has more mod than QQ-3W Yak at less than half the price. Like Bender said you can not go wrong with this plane.

Jim

After talking with you the other day, I decided to get one next week. I will be getting the Leesburg scheme. I have another Kroma 180 I am going to put in it. I am basically going to strip down the ole radiowave and move all the 5945's over to the Yak. I will place the order as soon as Rick and I get back from National Judging school. I have even spoke to Molly already. Should be a great model for this year. Melissa and I are planning to go back to the NATS this year.

Hi Reza

I have one 120" coming up with the Leeseberg scheme, hopefully in few days.
I will be using DA150 with MTW cans , 8711 all around and Smart Fly electronics.
I am thinking for Spektrum Lipo batteries, 7.4 4000mah each. gonna try them.

Just cleared the room to get ready.....

Guys,
When I got mine, I took pics while putting it together and some from first opening the crate. Check out the link FLYINGGIANTS EXCLUSIVE! First Peek - Leseberg / Somenzini 120" Yak!

My pics are posted starting on page 6 of the forum.

Overall, I am very pleased with the plane, which is the "Leesburg" scheme. The paint work and covering were great. Everything looked very thought out. I used everything in the kit. I have mine set up with a DA 150 and Greeves Pipes.

Though I have not flown mine due to winter setting in here in the northeast, I have high expectation after talking to a few guys that have flown theirs.

For the price, I don't think you will be disappointed. Here are a couple quick pics. Many more in the link above.

Jim,

Both are in stock.

Zivbit,

Glad to hear to that man

2 4000 lipo is more than enough for that set up. you should easily get 8-9 flights. I have 2 3000 LIMN and I can get about 5-6 flights depending how much I work the servos.

Guys,

some of you have built it and not flown and some are getting started, I promise you guys that once you get it in the air you don't want to land! Awesome flying airplane!

Thank you,
Reza

Question for you guy's. Will the 120" yak do IMAC well? Or is this mainly just a 3D plane?
Thanks
Kyle
