Default BME 30% Edge 540 build

Hi All
Here's the start on a BME Edge. Packing was great with twin boxes. There was a good dent/cut on each side of the wing box, but it didn't get into the second layer. There's also the wing bags too (this is the V3 Edge.) Price was $599 plus $67 shipping to get it here.

On to the big box contents:
One complaint - the foam used to protect the cowl did it's job, but there is some sort of residue stuck to the cowl now. I've tried rubbing it off, but no luck so far. I haven't tried acetone yet, but was worred about killing the paint. There's a bit on the wheel pants too. Other than that, they look perfect

Here's the hardware. It's almost everything, but not quite "everything but the spinner" Missing is the pull pull hardware, but not a big deal I guess. The pushrods are 5mm CF with threaded ends that get JB welded on. The control horns are really nice - aluminum anodized bits with aluminum (I think - they are light) screws. I did gall up one screw on a cone fitting that didn't want to go & I tried forcing it. Max at BME was great and sent me a new screw.
The main wheels are incredibly light... really light! The tailwheel feels heavy compared to the mains! The landing gear is painted fiberglass and feels light too.

Body construction: There is foam under the turtle deck & in front of the cockpit too - but it has been sheeted over with balsa. The fuse feels almost unbelievably light too.

A bit of a gripe here. The stringer down the bottom center wasn't glued in two places you can see & the fit of the ones on the sides isn't real great. They only have glue on one side holding instead of seated on two sides like I'd like.

I'm "planning" on using the BME 55 that's suppose to be out in April. But probably late April. This is just going to kill me if it slips & I've got this awesome plane just waiting! I've got the surfaces hinged (cept for the ailerons) and almost all I can do till the motor's here. I will probably move the elevator servos forward to keep weight out of the tail. The 55's supposed to be quite light.

Try pulling the stringers closer to the formers then dribble some medium CA into the joint, should work ok.

The BME55 will be an awesome engine, although waiting for it will def. suck.
