After guiding professionally for 12 years on the westcoast I gave it up to start a family. I have missed it however over the past 5 years and a real urge sat in the back of my mind. I have always loved the Seaswirl Striper and I finally took the plunge and bought one. My wife and I decided it was time to get my kids out on the water and show them a part of what has been so major in my life ( aside from planes So with months of searching on the internet I found a few in the Southern California area to have a look at. Literally over night I decided to hit the road and drive down to Newport beach to get one. I got a brand new 2006 (never used) 23' Seaswirl Striper. After all was said and done I saved half of what it would have cost me here in Canada. The drive was nuts but it was quite the adventure. Lots of hoops to jump through in order to get it here. But I did it. I will never forget it thats for sure. So in my driveway sits my new charmer!!!!!!! Damn, now my 46% ultimate has some competition |

Highlights, why didn't you tell me or Max you were comming down to Newport? I'm 10 minutes away! Damn, could have been fun. The Striper's are really nice boats, you're going to love it. Bayliner did a good job and thought about the angler when they designed the Striper. They ride nicely and are dry and even though the walk around is a little narrow it's still very usable if you need to bait a marlin from the bow. There is marlin in Canada right ? |

Bite your tounge, "Bayliner"?????? LOL. Thats the Trophy. Seaswirl did the Striper. Damn I knew I should have looked some guys up. It was such a short notice kind of thing though. I leterally kicked @#$ to get down there over night. Lots of wheeling and dealing to get out of there in a timely manner. I didn't feel like leaving the helm to my guys for that long a time. 6 days was enough. I do say though that it is some beautiful area down that way. I will definitely come down again on a differant note. What would have been really cool was if DA had already released the 170 at that time. I would of tucked that up into the wheel well LOL. Only kidding. All legit here guys. Would have saved on brokerage fees and shipping though. Oh well. Maybe another excuse to get down sooner. Lets set some fishing pics up here on this thread. ![]() HL PS no Marlin up this way but the Chinook are slabs. Check out this 81 lber we took while I was guiding up in the Queen Charlottes. Oh man what was I thinking? Of course it's the Trophy that Bayliner puts out, my bad. I have two friends that have Striper's and they are definately kick ass boats, no comparison between the two. As far as fishing pictures go, it's kinda funny that after 40 year of fishing the Sea of Cortez I have only a couple of pics of me fishing. Most of the pics I have are of partying and not fishing and catches. I never really thought about it until now. I think I can dig up something but I'll have to scan whatever I find. |

Yeah I scanned that pic above too. I managed to categorize my fish into volumes from over the years. Fresh , salt, river, lake etc. Good times looking back at all the great people I met and places I've been. |
