Hey guys this is gonna be a great time.

The HUCKFEST skipped Ohio last year, and believe me, I know you missed it.
(I heard from MANY of you!! And we listened!)

So this year we are bringing it back to Ohio with a VENGEANCE!
Lots of cool things happening in Ohio this year.

First off, the field for this Huckfest is a very ,very nice field.
If you have ever been to the Thistledown flyers annual Fly-in.. this is the same field
This year the Flyinggiants and Corky and Jeff Heitman have joined forces to DOMINATE the weekend after the Dogs show. The 2008 Heart of Ohio Huckfest will one that should not be missed!

As everyone knows, The Thistledown flyers annual fly-in's are always a hoot, and so are the all the Huckfests, so let's see how much fun we can have when we combine the two into the same weekend.
We will take the 3D vibe of a huckfest and mix it with the "for the pilots" vibe of the Tdown flyin, swirl in a pile of GREAT pilots and shake until foaming at the top.

ALSO... this year this event is NOT (as in N...O...T) IMAA sanctioned, so bust out all the Funtana 90's,
bust out the profiles and electrics, we will have space for it all!!

Did someone say night flying? I DID! Bring em, lite em up, bring the foamies... bring the floating UFO's its on for some serious night flying.

Were gonna tear it up guys... so this is the forum to make plans, ask questions, and make sure to mark your calenders!!!

Camping is available.
No hookup's, no dumps (if you have a actual camper)

Also Hotels are literally 5 minutes away.

The flying field and grounds are a no Alcohol zone, BUT,
the downtown area for after hour cocktails is only 5 minutes away as well.

Every year for the past Tdown shows for afterhours fun, we all went to a local watering hole and had a GREAT time!

We haven't decided on a fee just yet.

The thing is, we do not try and make money with these events.
We do two things, try to do a top notch event, and bring in a nice dinner for all the pilots, as well as help a local charity. (potentially Toys for Tots)

So..... we can make the fee real cheap and just raise some funds for the charity (Straight donation to fly) , or we can add a few bucks and bring in a nice dinner on Saturday.

What's the consensus?

$25 a pilot with a nice dinner sound ok?
Or

Skip the dinner and just raise money for a charity?

Hey guys... you can see the Best Western from the Flying Field. also this year we will have soy beans around the Field. I also plan on bring stadium light in for the night fly, we can also fly totally in the dark, its all up to the pilots

Here is the club website http://www.thistledownflyers.com/ you can get hotel info there. Also there are two New truck stops that can be seen from the Field as well. they have shower facilities if you plan on staying in a tent that weekend.

a big note ready to put this on the work calender!. i will likly tent camp if i can make it. sure hope i can do tis year,, i was so close to going to peebles.. then issues came up to not allow that,, this year im onthe calender for xfc, IRCHA, club float fly, and now the mother of all fun-flys. ohio huckfest! wish me luck!

If you're going that route I'll bring my Quarter scale Neiuport 28 and fly top cover for you. Or what the H I can bring my Yak 54. Seriously seeing as I plan on being there and camping I'll bring as many planes as I can fit and when I'm not making myself available to help out Jeff and Corky, I'm taking advantage of that beautiful field. Looks like a long weekend with a great bunch of guys.

Did someone say profiles?!!! I remember the Huichfest we had at Toby's place in Peebles county. That was a blast and as I recall the pro bros won the mass hover event. hehe. The Huckfest is a great event to see anyone huck anything! I'll grab the OMP gang and we'll put this one on the calendar. Thanks Corky, Jeff, and FG!
