FG Crew- Well I guess it's time for another State of the Flying Giants installment and it's my turn to write. We'll start writing a new post once a month or more often if we need to share something special. Set down with a cool beverage,,,here we go! First thing I'd like to say is thanks to all of you for being here. Starting the Flying Giants has been a ton of work, but that part was far exceeded by how much fun it is! As I've said before, what Max and I did was pretty much put boxes and ideas to a soulless bunch of code. Enter you folks! I'm astounded by the amount of humor, talent, creativity and information being shared. All with a minimum of negativity. I'm sure y'all agree that there's far too much negativity associated with the hobby. Seems sometimes you just can't escape folks yakking about this guy or that guy. Then throw in the never ending product wars,,,,. There's just too much of that in our hobby. The way you guys are bonding and sharing not only hobby stuff ,but family stuff is awesome! The greatest single thing we can all do for the hobby is to be an ambassador. It's an easy thing to do in mall shows and at the field when you see "that look" in a kids eyes. But you guys are doing exactly that without even knowing or seeing the folks you help and encourage. Bravo! I need to give a tip of the hat to our moderators. Kiwi, Kenneth, Sleepy, Mosdef, Jeeum, Kitman, Nitrohuffer, Toro, Texx, the Tank, Jay B, MommaD and Tony. I think you'll agree these guys are doing a great job. They stay out of the way and try to nudge folks back on track. They are great guys who honestly make the thing run. Max and I would be at square one without them. They do all this without fan-fair nor public back pats. Next time you see one of these guys on line, how about dropping them a quick note. If you don't know who they are from having a mod-O-gram,,they've done their job well !! Thanks fellas, can't say it often enough how lucky we are to have you! MadMax has been face in the monitor heavy! We have a TON of stuff on the middle burner getting ready to launch. I'm not creating buzz, just stating facts. As we've said before, static is something the Flying Giants will never be. I'm amazed at least twice a week when Max says "hey, I got this great idea for,,,,, I'm working on it right now!" UHH,,,okay,,,,! There is but one Mad Max. He's a dynamo, he's a computer whiz and he's a great pal. You my boy Blue,,,you my boy!! So what are we up to? The season is getting ready to start! Headed to Toledo in a couple weeks for the big show. Hope to see a bunch of you guys there. PLEASE introduce yourselves!! Seems like after events somebody drops me an email saying they would have introduced them self but it looked like I was busy. I'm just running my mouth!! SAY HELLO!! Always look to shake a hand of a Giants member.Make sure to attend the E-TOC and the E-X games too! We'll be there for sure. Well this will probably be the shortest State of the Flying Giants I will ever write. Some things we'd just as soon surprise you with shortly and quite honestly, you the members are the ones responsible for making the Flying Giants what it is! Rather than me rambling on, we'd like to hear from you folks! How about posting your comments in this thread ? It seems only right as you are the reason the site has a soul. I'm very proud to be a part of the flying Giants family. I hope you are as well. You should be, you made it what it is! As we grow, expect our approach to be the same; sharing our hobby in a positive way with like minded modelers everywhere. On behalf of MadMax, Kiwi, Texx, Sleepy, Toro, the Tank, JayB, Kitman, Kenneth,Mosdef, JeeUm, Tony, MommaD and Nitrohuffer we wish you a great flying season. Thanks so much from all of us for being here, tell your flying buddies (at least the ones with a good attitude!) about us! Keep the gossip, politics, rumors, product bashing and negativity where it belongs,,IN THE WORK PLACE!!! Biff |

Hey Maxx & Biff, First I would like to thank you for the website, but more for what you guy's have done for the hobby we all love. Chating on a website is a first for me. I never felt the need too. But this site and the people on it our awesome. A perfect example is last week I went out to the new club I joined. There was Mark Trent, Bryan Zang and Chris Winn. Now I knew Chris from my old club. But I started talking with Bryan Zang and said hey I'm 66stang from the Flying Giants. We had a nice conversation, that just would not had happened had I not met him on this site... Very cool. Another time I had listed on the website that I wish one of the Pros would be more helpful. That night Mark Trent sent me a nice E-mail and has been very helpful since. I owe these new found friends to this website. I also look forward to meeting Biff when he is in town.. . Thanks again, it's all good! |

"Keep the gossip, politics, rumors, product bashing and negativity where it belongs,,IN THE WORK PLACE!!!" That's a great line Biff! I think I'll try and remember it and use it...plagerism at it's best... Thanks and to all the mods, yourself and Max. The community that is Giants does live and breathe...but it's not just from the Crew...give yourselves a pat OTB, it could not live without the mods, Max and yourself.(...and oh yea, we got a horse!) |
