| Gettin' Lower! ![]() | hey you guys I have been having problems with my mini funtana for awhile now I was woundering what would be a good powerfull out runner setup for this plane I have a himax geared motor on it with a 11x7 prop using a 2100 3 cell apex battary and a eflight 20 amp esc but it does not have the power to hover and for some reason my big gear keeps stripping alot. iam getting 180-190 watts out of it though was thinking about a himax 3522 anythoughts are suggestions? would apprciate http://www.maxxprod.com/mpi/mpi-262.html |

| Sleepy's step and fetch ![]() | I ran a Hacker B20-22L with a 12x6E apc it pulled around 19 amps It was a bottle rocket. I would say if you could, bump up to a 25@ ESC as that would broaden your horizons a little and allow greater power selection in the motor dept. |

| It's official, thanks Verne... ![]() | I used the HiMaxx motor on my Mini Funtana, stripping the spur gear was an everyday occurance. you can stop some of it by tightening up the mesh a little, but it only delays the inevitable. I currently have the Mini Edge, which I will use the B20-15L with 4:1 gearbox. The only reason I'm using this motor is I have one just sitting here. I also have an A20-20L that is scheduled to go in my Fliton Prodigy, if I ever get it .

| Down Low..Too Slow..DOH!! ![]() | OK....I found some pics. This IS NOT the finished install.....but gives you a idea of how I did it. I had added extra bracing because what's show is obviously NOT stong enough. It was easy to do and works great. Another install I've seen they made long standoff's from the radial mount back to the firewall using brass tubing and some long screws. Neo |

| Thanks for the Support! ![]() | Dude.. I have bought from an E-flight online store an alumnium mount that lets you mount Axi's and other outrunners to a stick mount. Man I think it was Clays hobbies? or E-something. They are like $8. Done.

| Shaun Price ![]() | I have sold my MF but this is a post I had made about a year ago. AXI 2808/20 mount I decided to build a motor mount for my Axi 2808/20. It is made of very light/soft 10mm balsa, 3mm ply, tri-stock, and some 1oz glass. Total weight of the mount is 20g (.7oz). The front on the mount is tapered to avoid restricting airflo into the cowl. This mount is sturdy and exhibits no vibration in flight which makes this power system extremely quiet in flight. The mount has no downthrust and 2 degrees right thrust. I do not get ballooning on landing due to having no downthrust. The original stick mount was cut back but was left in order to help set the thrust line. I still have to trim it off completely. Static I am pulling 27amps, 260watts @ 9,300rpm on an APC 10x5e and 3S Tanic 2220 lipos on a fresh pack. I have unlimited vertical. With throttle management during an aggressive sequence I get 10-11mins before low voltage cutoff. My Mini Funtana weighs 26oz with this setup. I will try to post some video next week. Here are some pictures to show the construction. Enjoy, Shaun http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/attac...hmentid=522628 http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/attac...hmentid=522629 http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/attac...hmentid=522630 http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/attac...hmentid=522632 Last edited by sprice50 : 03-30-2006 at 10:45 AM. |

| Thanks for the Support! ![]() | Nice job dude! That looked nice. Good advice, especially about leaving the stick to align the new mount. NICE!! ![]()
