I have been told it is really splitting hairs but the Yak has almost no couplingbut the 260 has very little. Pick the one you like the looks of.

Sevans is right. Pick the one that YOU think looks best and put 50 gallons through it. I really believe I am a better pilot flying the planes that I think look best. Simplistic answer I know, but it is psychological and has a big effect (on me anyhow).

btw, I have flown both the 2.6 Yak and the 3.0 Extra 260. They were both phenominal, and felt much lighter than they should. I think the Yak "got dirty" easier and was super easy to slow down, while the Extra is more clean and seemed to retain energy better (of course it was the bigger size so that probably factors in as well). The Extra had about 6% mix elev and ail to rudder and the Yak had a bit less mix, but both were quite neutral and had no bad behaviors.

Both are good...Yak 55 in a 2.6 or 3.0 meter flies very smooth...The 3.0 is better IMAC..not a great 3d plane...For whatever reason the 2.6 Yak 55 is a great 3d plane. Comp-Arf 260 is a great flyer..I just dont like the looks of the 260...
