Default Hitec 20 Programmer & 7955s help

I am trying to program my 7955s with the new HFP-20 programmer. I have set all the settings I want to change, and when done and unplug the servo, it says "fail" every time. I have tried it about 10 times and no luck. I start by resetting the servo, then setting the servo reverse, then the DB width, resolution, and last EPA. I am setting the center, push M, then turn the wheel left, push the UP/L, and then do the right, push the DN/R, and then unplug the servo and it says fail. I even tried turning the wheel left, and push the DN/R and vice versa, and still a fail. Out of ideas here, never had this problem with the old programmer and 5955s.

Before unpluging the servo you must turn the adjust to the center and push the input button. Now the servo can be unpluged

Thanks, going back to center and doing the input did the trick.

I just setup a 35% Hanger 9 260 with these servos. I have 6 flights on it now and love the plane and the 7955's.

Hey guys,

i don't mean to start a band war between servo brands here but how does the 7955 compare to the JR 8711 as far as resolution and centering go? I am building a 40% Carden 300 this winter and has been tossing and turning between which servos to get. I plan on running 2 servos per wing, 1 per stab, and 2 on a push-pull on the rudder. I would like to go Hitec because i don't want to have to deal with the slop but if the Hitecs don't perform like JR, then I will get JR and deal with the slop issue.

Thanks and let me know what you guys think,

Neil

There both good. I just built a Carden 300 and its wrapped in 7955. The reason being that my emcotec doesnt have matching or reversing. So I bought the Hitecs so i could program them with little to no radio mixes and no matchboxes. With the JR you get the 400+oz. torque. But the Hitecs are 333oz. torque. So your ailerons will have 800+ compared to 666+oz. For the $25 diffrence its up to you. BTW with the 2 hitecs on the rudder the thing will do a knife edge loop with no problem.
Just my 2 cents.
