Hi all, i have just acquired a 1/3 scale Byron Pitts new in box(for £10 i have to add!!) I have a G62 to drag it round. Has anybody see these fly? If so are they any good for 3D. I know with the 58% Exclusiv Modellbau you have to extend the ailerons to full length. Are there any tricks before i start to build it? Cheers Guys |

NO, not good for 3D. If you build it by the instructions, its not good for much of anything related to aerobatics. I doubled the size of all the plywood hardpoint circles and it still showed signs of coming apart. The foam compresses and starts to tear. I've seen some that were glassed with g-62;s and they were too heavy. They fly great when they are light, very scale. Loved mine, I'll see if I can drag out a pic. Daniel |

andywynn, Welcome to the site! The Byron Pitts was way ahead of it's time and pretty fun to fly with a Q-35 as long as it was kept as light as possible. The ones I've seen with a G62 had to be reinforced to handle the extra power and shake. That was the kiss of death! Light is the way! 3D? About the only 3D it will do is cork screwing down your hallway going from your shop to your car! Glad to have you here! Biff

I had the Christen Eagle and it was a great flying airplane for scale type aerobatics. Mine was powered with a super tiger 3250 and had plenty of power. Just don't expect any "post stall" type of manuevers. "post stall" with this airplane means one thing. Lots of foam pieces on the ground.
