Default Sayin' hello from australia

We are fairly new to rc flying, and am absolutely overwhelmed by all this! I would love to be able fly something like these in the (near)future. We are from Uralla, a small country town, but your webcasts make the world a much smaller place. We would love to see more of it.

Thanks,

Shaun and Beth

Far out, what are the chances? I live 20 kms from you in Armidale! I have a 32% extra 330 and a smaller Ult biplane (20cc). I'm just getting into aerobatics and mucking around with some basic 3d stuff. This site is fantastic with some seriously knowledgeable dudes who are damn helpful too. Great for us folk who live in otherwise 'big plane' deprived areas..

What are you's up to and interested in doing?

Hey Shaun and Beth,

It's great to have you here!!

Remember, you don't have to fly giant scale to be a Flying Giant!!!

It's much more about the attitude, take what you have, fly it hard, push yourself and your gear, all with a good attitude!! No drama, just good clean fun, that's all there is to it, do it in Giant Style!!!

Welcome to the Giants!!!

Shaun and Beth,

Welcome. I'm not new to the hobby, but I was out of it for a few years, overwhelmed is an understatment of how I felt when I got back to flying. There have been so many thing come out in the years I wasn't flying that I was almost starting over.

I know that seeing all the Giant scale planes makes a person want to jump right to them. Take your time, fly what you have, and keep pushing yourself to be a better pilot. When you feel that you are ready (as a pilot and money in pocket), then move up to a larger plane. When you move up, don't be afraid to ask for help. You just found out that there are good people close you you that have some experience with the larger birds.

I have just moved to larger planes myself and have found the members here a great source of information on setup and flying the larger planes.

Good luck with all your flying and again welcome to the family.

Wiz

A BIG HI TO EVERYONE! This is a great site, I am telling everyone about it. Norm, we are members of NEMAC (New England Model Aircraft Club). We are heli flyers and plane flyers, not sure if we have met before? Where do you fly?

I've been flying for the past couple of years on my mate's property near Arding. It is a huge flat field of about 80 acres with a mowed strip and a bunch of dedicated sheep and cow spectators.
I don't get out much though so I'm keen as to get into 3D foamies to stuff around in the park across the road with my kids.

Welcome Norm! I'm happy you're hucking foam. As we say all the time. Flying Giants are about an attitude, NOT airplane dimensions. If you have a positive attitude, fly for the fun of it and enjoy having a drama free place to share your thoughts or get some questions answered, you are always welcome! Mighty proud to have another Aussie. You guys are the best!! Cheers!! Biff
