| I've Gone Yak! Will I go BACK? ![]() | Well guys today I was torque rollin my 260 from one end of the field to the other up high and was doin a lot of inverted climbing flatspins and harriers and such. Basically just testing the DA making sure nothin wont happen. It took me 2 years for me to just trust that gt80 in my sukhoi to bring it down low. I know I could bring down this 260 tomorrow if I wanted and have it torquin right in front of me just I dont trust myself to trust the motor. It only takes one little thing to go wrong and splat!!!! Just wondering how yawl work at this bringing big 40%ers down on the deck.

| Mother Huckin' ![]() | Just bring it down slow in a nice harrier. 40%'s do really nice rock solid harriers and just pull up in the middle of the runway and tork You could also do a Wall and hover. Flat spin if you got the balls. ![]() It's really just more about trusting yourself than the engine. It's a DA, it's not gonna quit. Neither would a 3W for the brand war junkies ![]()

| Rollin', Rollin', and Rollin' ![]() | I would first bring it down in a harrier to about half runway then just pull on that elevator to a hover. DA's are just to reliable!

| Shake and Bake ![]() | The way I started looking at it, and Ive seen it happen, is that it's gonna do a lot less damage from 1 foot than 100 feet. If it quit at 100 feet in a hover it would tailslide for a while and would not pick up enough speed to start flying again. Brian |

| I've Gone Yak! Will I go BACK? ![]() | I might give it a try. The 260 is back in the hanger right now. Tail Wheel bracket came off today when I landed. I was coming in for a landing and landed soooo good and I had my Sukhoi's tail wheel on there because the other one I had on there flew off at the contest I went to and when it rolled it was about to stop then made a 360 turn and broke off. The springs arnt that good for one thing and that wheel didnt help.

| Down Low..Too Slow..DOH!! ![]() |
The engine is only as reliabe as the person who is tuning it. PERIOD!!! I've seen every brand quit for ao apparent reason. Until you are positive that you can trust that engine, fly smart with it. Even then things can happen. Example: Buddies Carden Extra with DA100........flown for over a season and a half with no issues. 2 weeks ago, it quits for absolutly no reason. After a landing that overshot the runway.....it restarts immediately. We can't explain why it quit. Neo | |||||||||||||||

| Bad-ass Super Contributer! ![]() | Hovering at 100 feet will only result in the plane falling on the expensive side if the motor dies..... Reality... hover at 10 feet or less... and only the airframe is damaged in the event of a engine failure.... between 10 feet and 300 feet... not likely to recover... So either High Huck or "Deck the B!tch" http://media.putfile.com/flight-numb...ing-acquainted FMAB Last edited by Mithrandir : 07-26-2006 at 10:54 PM. |
