There's no copyrights on scheme's. Anyone can use any scheme without any problems from anyone.

Try telling that to the Red Bull people.....There is a reason Composite-ARF stopped making the redbull scheme.

scheme's can be copyrighted! like mine.....all i have to do is go down to my local designer store and they can take the picture and send it in and ....yeah don't know what they do then it comes back and yeah it's under ur name so if anyone tries using it without like authority from the designer can be sued....lol but ya'll can use it! heck this is what this sport is all about! If anyone ever needs a scheme ask me i have a lot of spare time so i'd love to do somethin

schemes and stuff like that can be protected by copyrights. Just look at Ferrari, technically no one else can use Ferrari red on any car. I think that is going a little far but I understand why companies like red bull don't always want us to use there schemes.

Interesting thread. I think for companies like Red Bull And Ferrari for the color or the scheme, they have little value unless the company NAME is utilized. Thats where the problem arises, the company names are trademarked. As far as a company in the R/C industry paying for color schemes " Good luck with that" There isn't enough markup in hobby goods to suport that sort of thing.

Yea it's the name that comes into play as far as copyrights. Like the Christen Eagle. YOu can only legally use that scheme on that plane. If you designed a plane and a scheme for it, you coud get a copyright for it, however anyone can make slight alterations to your work and claim it as theirs and even copyright it if they had something to put it on.
