Default Southern Hemisphere, unite!

Looking for flying pals located below the Ecuator!
The Northern Hermisphere guys are well represented and it's easy for them to meet.
Let's have a go ourselves. From Oz, NZ, Southern Pacific Islands, Tahiti, Easter Island, Chile,
Argentina, etc.etc.
Victor

Victor,

I often say brilliant minds think alike. One of my ambitions is to light a fire under this hobby on the Southern Cone of the Americas and we have some wheels turning to do this already.

One of the biggest draw backs we all have that the guys on the northern continent dont suffer from quiet so much is distance. We are all a long way apart and its never too easy to get to the other guys neighbourhood. But we are working on it.

This week I formed a new company that will have its base in Chile but we will cover as much of Latin America and the southern continents as possible. We have been negotiating with some of the biggest names and companies to allow us to get planes and RC equipment down here at prices equal too or better than the USA can deliver us.

Its going to be a long hard haul and honestly it is not about making money. Quiet the opposte to be honest. We are commited to bring the IMAC competitions to Latin America in a big way. The top names are behind us. So what do we need.

We need communication. We need to see when and where all the big events are going to be held. Luckily airfares down this way are still reasonable if you book with lots of time in advance.

We want to bring people to your events and you to ours.

How does a South American IMAC championship sound every two years. Always in a different country.

What about a truly international challenge between Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, Columbia, Peru, and everyone else below the magic line.

I know its a dream but I am sure it can happen if we all think about it and come up with a way to do it.

Guys the world is an oyster, you just need to open it.

Kiwi

Victor,

Great idea, sounds like a ton of fun.

Kiwi,

You are the "do-er" in the southern hemisphere, sounds like you have some great ideas.

For you guys that don't know Kiwi, he's not a talker, he "will" get it done!!

I am patiently waiting for the reports and videos!!!

vmjargardo

There are already a lot of southern hemisphere members present and active on this site. In New Zealand IMAC is going strong and getting better. We are lucky to have Bogan here helping us out. Also the Australian IMAC scene is very active. It would be great to get some of the big names downunder for a contest, who knows between Australia and New Zealand we could organise an Imac event in each country 1 week apart to make it worthwhile. Gotta start working on the concept. Great to have you on board.

Hola Gaston,
Victor

Seem to have lost contact.
I suggest we do a listing of flyers by location, starting, maybe, with our homegrounds, Chile. It seems we are several that we use Flying Giants as a check out point several times a week.
Those who have residence in other countries, below the Ecuator, can do their own stuff.
Drop me a line. I still can't make work tht skype mike.

Hey there IMAC Kiwi! I would love to have an 'ANZAC' IMAC comp, that would be just great!!

Where in Australia is it the cheapest to fly to? Sydney or Melbourne. There are lots of good clubs around Melbourne with a good IMAC contingent. My own club is probably the best club within an hour and a bit of Sydney to hold an IMAC event but I am the only IMAC flyer in the club.............

How often do you guys have events over there?? Would love to come and have a fly!
