Default Death of a great modeler

In case you have not heard, Aubrey Nabors from GA passed away Tuesday July 11. He was at home with his wife at the time. For those of you that knew him, you all know what an incredible man and craftsman builder he was. It was an honor for me to know and fly with him. He will be missed by all that knew him.

John

John,

Very sorry to hear about your friend. I didn't know him, however, from what you say, I missed the boat on that one. Any time one of the great modelors passes, we all lose a little part of the hobby. As sad as this day is, remembering all he gave is one way to carry on his legacy.

May God bless and keep him, his family and friends.

I assume the Bob Smith trophy is still awarded to the person who flew the most realistic. Aubrey Nabors was a great friend and one fantastic builder. He was just at our field a month ago and I had seen him over at the Nall. He was in good spirits and seemed to be doing fine. It came as a shock to me to hear this. He was one of the nicest men you would ever meet. I agree he will be missed not only in the hobby but outside of it also.

I never met the man until this year at the NALL.
I was standing behind him when he won the award.
Afterwords he turned and shook a few people's hands including mine.

He was the kind of guy that with one hand shake, you knew he was a good person,
and had a good soul. Not to be cheesy, but I really thought to my self.. man this guys seems so nice, I'm sure he deserved the award.

Well, it seemed like the award really made him smile, I hope that added just one more happy memory of this hobby and the people involved for him!

Sorry for the loss.
