Default Anyone know of a good 3D setup procedure?

Does anyone have any suggestions for reference material regarding procedures for setting up and dialing in aircraft for 3D style flying? I'm a long-time flyer with mainly sport, pattern and IMAC style habits. I recently began moving in the direction of 3D and would like to educate myself in the area of airframe setup for the high-alpha 3D manuevers. I have G3 and have been playing with different aspects of airframe configuration, but I'm not convinced that it's a true representation of the real thing.

My two new airframes are the Aerowork's 50cc Yak and the Aerowork's 33% Edge 540T. The Yak has been flying and the Edge is getting close to completion. One of the things I'd like to know is how best to set the CG for good all-around 3D capability. Since I'm not very good at 3D stuff now, I'm not sure how to tell if the adjustments I make are improvements or not. I heard from some fellow pilots about how to check for different types of coupling and such, but it would be really nice to have some checklist of procedures I can work through to get these airframes dialed in without having to perform 3D manuevers to verify. Is there a way to accomplish this?

I guess I'm looking to get the planes configured so the learning curve doesn't include fighting a poor setup.

Thanks.

Don't know if this will help but there are a couple of good videos out there worth looking at to get some idea of setting your plane up. Frank Nolls "the Art of 3-D" and Jason Shulmans " Defying the limits". There both a couple of years old but the principles are still there. Then all you need is a lot of gas.
