Acid Pro is the way to go unless you are adding the music to video.

Then you can use the editing program your using to edit the mp3 also i.e. Windows Movie Maker

Hope This Helps.

Im in the process of putting together a freestyle song too. If I can find the songs i want, can anyone help me add sound effects and transitions to it? I can get as far as splicing songs together, but i cant add the right effects and transitions fluently if my life depended on it, any help would be nice. I havent found the right mix of songs yet but when i do i'll let yall know as long as someone is up to it.

I was thinking when switching from a precision type song to a 3d type song having an explosion or something and with that i'll do a wall or a snap up in the freestyle, its just i dont have the sounds to do it with, but im in the middle of figuring out my songs as i am making these post and i find what i want ill let you know. Thanks alot!

I think I might have an explosion sound, I thought you ment an FX inbetween all the songes that would sound a little weird. let me know.

fudman, I saw Wayne Matthews a very good pilot (I think he stands in second place right now in the IMAC) use the explosion technique to change from one song to the next doing various things such as a snap or wall or something else but I think BreakStuff has an idea.
