hey guys, im having a major problem with my evo 46. when im at full bore it bogs out and there is little bubbles in the line. i changed the plug and took the needle out and blew through the vent line to get any dirt out. its still bogging out. i cant fly it the way it is. can anyone diagnose this over the forum or take me through trouble shooting. any help or questions would be greatly apreciated, thank you!

Gas or Glow????

I figure that some editing would be necessary...... So here goes!!!!

At full power, and you pinch the fuel line, if the line is exposed, a brief pinch, like you are pinching you thumb and index finger together QUICKLY, what does the engine do??? Does it fall on its nose??? WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, to BLUH!!!!!! Or does the RPM's pick up??? BLUH to WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! If it falls on its nose, that means that it is TOO LEAN!!! Open the high speed needle up 1/2 turn! And try again!! If the engine RPM pick's up, that means it is rich(which is OK!!!), and just SNEAK up on the high speed needle 1 or 2 clicks at a time. Also, having your fuel tank wrapped in foam rubber HELPS!!!! Other than that, all I can think of is to pull the spray bar out of the carb, and clean it out with some fuel. Helps when you pull the needle out as well!!

Try that, and report back!!

Chris~

Once you get the high speed needle adjusted, look for the low speed needle to need adjusted as well!!!

Are the bubbles in the fuel line visible from the tank to the engine or just between the needle valve and carb? If you can see them in the entire fuel system, re-plumb the tank and run new lines. The bubbles will cause it to lean out. If they are only visible between the needle valve and carb, your needle valve O-ring is probably leaking and may need replaced.

What fuel are you using? Some have a tendancy to foam more than others.
