Trust me, I hear ya! I'm here in Korea right now reading this wearing a chem suit and gas mask working a 12 hour shift with no weekend in sight. Sounds weird but it's reasurring that I'm not the only one! I feel your pain. P.S. I'm in a chem suit for an exercise not for war, just thought I'd clear that up.

Sorry to hear 'bout all yur' WORK-TIME ! I'm 46 and retired. I feel ya gents! I have not been to the field yet this year! WTF!!?? I have several incomplete planes that need my attention but WORK has gotten in the way. I dont mind though but it sure would be nice to get to the field for 10 hours of straight flying

With ya dude. Work 55 - 60 hrs a week, my kids take up the rest of my time, (And I squeek my Yard work and house hold maintance and car maintance in there as well!) I have to plan 3 weeks a head to be able to get to the field for 4 hours on a sunday (and my travel time to the field is 45 min each way). I work on planes or fly the sim from 11pm ish till 2am and get up at 6am everyday. BUT I just reciently purchased a small electric and i try and sneak 1 pack's worth of flying before I pick my kids up each night. That 10 minutes makes all the difference. That little 10 min flight keeps me "almost" sane. Oh well... gotta work hard while ya can, a lot of people want jobs and can't find them... so I'll grunt and moan about the hours, but in the end be greatful I have a decent job.... hopefully it will lead to PLENTY of time to fly someday!

Sleepy,Your life sounds like a direct clone of mine I just don't know how my bros have been getting the time to get any flying in at all latley. What really sets me off is when I get away from the office and finally get home is I walk past my beautifull 7x17 pace aerosport trailer that has my planes packed in it,I have just enough time to open the side door turn on the light,DROOOOLE for a minute and go to bed.Things have got to slow down soon or I just may go right over the FREAKIN falls.Man,things really have to let up soon. Dave

I'm the same way... I take a peek at my gassers and think... why do I even own these?!?! BUT.. I'm telling ya... get a small electric 3D plane or just aerobatic... in the time it takes you to "drop the kids off at the pool" you can sneak a flight in... a short 5 min one... and it REALLY makes a difference. I just discovered this 2 weeks ago... I found a park on the way to pick my kids up... and i pop in fly and pop out, seriously 15min... I just use the excuse that traffic has increased... and NO ONE KNOWS.....

It could be worse. In Afghanistan if I wasnt pulling 8 hour guard shifts in the towers, I was out on month long missions in the 135 deg heat looking for the Tali Bums and Allcrazies. In Iraq it only got better; my free time was spent filling sandbags, stacking sandbags, hell we even had un authorized sandbags we had to empty out and re fill. When ya'll get out the service dont be tempted by a good sounding salary when you get a job. Figure out your hours and then determine if its still all good. For that reason I decided to get my own thing going as I can make more $$ in less time doing my own thing as a G.C. vs. supervervising for a construction company.
