| Super Contributer ![]() | Article by: Bob "Biff" Sadler Just got an email from QuiQue. The FAI plane he flew this year has some pretty trick stuff. Starting with his proven Brio design, QuiQue added a vertical fin and stab (ala Christophe Paysant Le-Roux) then chunked in an uber cool prop. "The Brio is my best effort so far. I really like the electric motor as well" said QuiQue. "The fin and stab added are the brainchild of Christophe, I simply figured out what worked best for my plane. What I noticed is the airplane flies much better with this system. The airflow leaving the prop on most airplanes circles the fuse. This mod seems to keep the airflow in a much more linear flow. Knife edge flight REALLY is much more strong." "The propeller started life as an APC. Wayne Ulery modified the tips. I think the total package on my Brio added greatly to my success at the NATS. I was very proud to win as the field of pilots just keeps getting better and better every year." We also need to extend our congrats to QuiQue and Sandra on the birth of their new son Sebastian on Wednesday!!! Congrats QuiQue for topping the field this year and we wish you continued blessings! |

| Bad-ass Super Contributer! ![]() ![]() | Quique, Well first of all congratulations on the new Somenzini baby mate. I am sure your tickled pink and half hung over from puffing on all those Puros and charging classes with a fine Argentinian red wine. Hope Sandra and the new one are just fine of course. The pattern plane looks Uber Slick as Biff would say. Looks like you are one of those guys who nevers settles for what you have. There is always a step further to be taken and I admire that spirit in anyone who has it. Great stuff dude. I suppose your going to have to bring the new one down south to show off some time so when you do let us know mate. If you have a few hours to spare I am sure I can rassle up a few good mates to help celebrate the new one down here as well. Oh with a good Chilean red in this case however. Hope all goes well and god bless you all my friend. Kiwi |
