Default Video card help

I figure with all the computer experts on here this would be the place to get the info.

I need to buy a video card for the Areofly Pro deluxe I just bought cause the one I have won't work with it.

Here is some info. I built this computer a few years ago to use for video editing only. I am definitely no pro at editing or computers. The system is:
Asus A7N8X Deluxe Mobo
AMD 3000/333 Athlon XP Barton processor
512 PC-3200 DDR 400 Memory
ATI All in wonder Radeon 32mb DDR
WD 120 Gig HD @7200
I use on-board sound. and I have RAID but have no idea what it is(other then bug killer) so I don't use it.

SO here is what I need to know. I ordered an ATI all in wonder 2006 Edition card.

Would I be better off getting an older AIW 9800 pro?
Getting another video card and using another thing to capture analog video(although everything I have read says stay away from any USB2 capture devices)?

I would like to keep it at around $200 or less.

ANY opinions are greatly appreciated. And BTW I do not do ANY gaming at all. I will be using this card strictly for the flight simulator, and I might be getting Real flight G3 as well because some guys at my club are flying on there at night and meeting up.

Sorry if this is long winded. Also if there is anything I left out please let me know.
Thanks

The All In Wonder cards are great cards. That card however will run slower than a card idential to it without the tv tuner stuff. That being said, this card is overkill for Aerofly. You won't have a problem with it at all. Install it and enjoy it.

You could get the Asus GeForce 6800 Ultra PCI 16 slot ... of course it costs as much as the rest of the computer.

Do you have a miniDV camcorder? If you don't have one I would highly suggest you look into getting one. You can transfer all the video you record digitally over Firewire. You also can record from analog sources to the DV cam and then transfer that over the Firewire.

You might also want to look into using the RAID function of your mother board if you are doing a lot of video editing. You would have to get another drive that is the same as the one you have now. You would wan't to run it in RAID 0, which would split the data being read/written between the two drives. Make your drives almost twice as fast as they are now.

As far as the AIW 2006, it should work okay for G3. It also depends at what resolution and quality settings you want to run it at. The GPU on that card is the X1300. I hope you ordered the AGP version.

Default Re: Video card help

The X700 isn't capable of capturing video so I would then need to get something to capture analog video.

No miniDV still in the dark ages of analog. I would need to buy 2 HD's that are SATA to use RAID. I did order the AGP, seems most places are out of stock.

So I am still looking for suggestions. If the video card is not capable of capturing analog video I would also need a PCI capture card, and I don't know of any and I want to stay within my budget.
