Default Greetings from NC!

I've been lurking here for a short while so I thought I would put up a post. I've been flying heli's for a number of years and recently have started getting into airplanes. I started IMAC with a H9 27% Extra 260 with a DA 50 in it, came in first in my first contest! But now that I am learning more I realized that this airplane wasn't going to cut it, consequently I have just sold it. Now I am thinking about the Xtreme 2.6m Edge from BVMprops... waddya think?

C,

Congrats on the first place finish, The IMAC gang where ever you go are a bunch of great people. As far as new planes, not to steer you clear of the edge but you may want to look at the 102" qq yak or the Composite arf yak. Both are great planes that fly really well.

If your looking not build a kit look into the Dalton 35% kit or the JTEC extra 300 (midwing) I have flown both of these plane and they both fly excellent.

Hey Andrew,

Thanks for the reply! Do you know what the weight was of the JTEC Extra 300 you tried? Was there anything you didn't particularly like about - such as any coupling etc.. ?

Thanks again!

Hey Chris,

It's great to have you here!!

Browse around the site, there's a ton of stuff to see and read. You will probably get a lot more exposure for your question if you post it in the IMAC forum or the Giant Scale Kits forum. Not everybody checks out the "New to the Giants" forum.

Andrew is one of the most knowledgable members we have on the Giants, you will get nothing but sound advice from him.

Welcome to the Giants!!!

C,

I think that the one I tried was 27 with cans. It felt really nice. It didnt seem to have much coupling. If Kevin Y joins this thread he will be able to fill you in a little bit more on the plane.

Thanks for the info, I called JTEC to see when they would have the Extra back in stock and they estimate about 3 months.....I'll search over in the IMAC forum too to see what info I can find on it. Me and a buddy had seriously considered the Dalton 35%...unfortunately with my building skills it would take me a long time to get it done!

Don't get too excited...but here's a vid of my H9 Extra that I just sold...

It was fun to play around with...just not the best for precision.

I'm pretty pleased for only a year of airplane flying... (and six of heli flying before!)
