Default Reaming APC Prop Holes?

Hey guys,

This is my first big glow engine....

How do you enlarge the prop hole on the 18x6W APC to fit the O.S 1.60 FX shaft? Do I have to buy a reamer, or pay a machine shop to do it for me? Or could I just carefully try drilling it out myself?

It will cost more than the prop itself to have a machine shop ream it out....

Thanks all....

Marc

EDIT: Sorry, meant to post this in Glow Stuff Forum!

Buy a reamer. Easy to do and the reamer is cheap. Most all reamers have every popular size all in one. Worth the money. Don't drill! You'll never get center. Biff

I have to agree with Biff,

Buy a reamer. It will be money well spent. For the O.S. 1.60 I run an APC 18x8 and need to use the biggest part of my reamer. That didn't sound to good did it? Anyway like Biff said don't use a drill, you will never center it. Reamers are cheap, and it's one of those tools that when you need it, it's the only tool for the job. Good luck to you.

Ream it... then balance it to perfection.... even if it's off center a touch, balancing will correct the error.

Reamer all the way
Do not try to enlarge the hole by drilling you only damage the prop
Ream it by hand only balance it and than fly
Good luck
