Hi, I have a new ZDZ 80 B2 mounted on an airframe that I'll use for free style. I fly at 5500ft. I have not flown it yet but I tested 2 Menz on ground. The 24/10 gives me 6350 RPM, the 26/8 6150. The 26/8 has slower acceleration but according to my thrust calculator produces more static thrust. Does anyone have experience w/ this engine at high altitude who could recomend a prop? I would like to chose a suitable mejzlik or similar. Thanks, Eric |

you are on the right track-- keep rpms in mid 6000 NOT lower. I fly at 4500 ft elevation the prop must turn faster to deliver same thrust as at low altitude a Mejzlic or similar shape 26x10 (actually 25.5x10) is largest I would use. Also narrow and sweep blades of MensS to match the Mejzlic. Done carefully, these props can work well for you |
