| Hey everyone, I thought I'd pass along a photo or two of a couple of "different" Falcon 20's...Not your everyday business jet is it? I just wish the one that I fly had the rockets!! It would probably make the lines at Hartsfield, and DCA a little shorter for me! ....Jim Last edited by falconpilot; 08-02-2006 at 10:15 PM. |

Spocky, While at Simuflite(Flight training center), I ran into an instructor who give me a CD full of photo's of the Falcon 20 since that is what I was training in. The first photo, with the underslung rockets, is a Falcon 20 fitted out as a mediun range fighter/bomber, currently in use by the France airforce. The wing on most of the Falcon jets, (up to the 2000's, 900's and new 7X)are the same wing's that are all Mirge fighter jets. The Falcon 20 is probably, the strongest, toughest medium jet ever built. The linkage to the Mirge fighter is the reason for this. It is a wonderful, easy flying jet that makes even a bad pilot look good on landing with its trailing link landing gear. Again, if you every get a chance, take a look at the landing gear on the 20. WAY overbuilt..Come to find out, its been landed on a aircraft carrier! Thus the reason for the overbuilt gear...The Falcon20 is used thoughout the world in a number of Airforces including the US, France, Spain, and more... The second photo is a Falcon 20 that the US was doing some testing with that actually had afterburners installed.. I believe that this is only 20 with afterburners every retro'ed, and the project really went no futher, that I know of.... I thought that they were interesting and hope someone else might as well.......Jim |

Another cool thing about falcons, is its certification for grass field takeoffs and landings. Well built sleds. Getting ready to leave the Citation X for a 2000.
