Howdy Ya'll from Amarillo, Texas

Howdy, Ya'll. Just found out about this new site for the big birds. Glad to see it. Been user of RCU for the last few years. You might have seen me there, JDM. I have been out of the hobby for the past 2 1/2 years, acct. we had a little girl and, need I say more. Well now I have promissed myself to take some time and get back into it. I have two models, a H9 1/3 Sukhoi w/ DA 100, and a Dave Patrick 120 Ultimate w/YS 140 Spt. Both were completed just before Skyler was born, so neither has been flown since. I am a bit nervous about getting back in the air. I am currently working on the wing fix for the Suk. Loved flying in Bakersfield Ca., were we are from, but now I have to learn how to fly in 20mph+ winds. The wind never stops in Amarillo. Anyway, that's me in brief. Any of you from Amarillo or anywhere near?

You don't have to fly giant scale to be a Flying Giant!! All you need to do is take what you have, fly it hard, try new things and have fun!!! It's more about keeping a Giant Style attitude, everything positive, no drama, and be helpful, we are into sharing info and fun, what could be better than that.

Hey John,
I think it's great that you found the site. It's always nice to get another Texan on here. You'll find great people and plenty opinions abound . I live up on the Red River in the middle of Texas. Winds not to bad most of the time here, but I still have to deal with this dang heat!! I too took a break from flying, and got back in to it a couple years ago. I was scared to death to fly again for the first couple flights.But after the the first afternoon was done, I was back in the saddle.If you have the knee shakes too bad, have a member of the club help being there with you makes a large difference.Well best of luck to ya.
