Do you feel doing a Loop is complicated? Do you feel doing a roll is complicated? Do you feel doing a Split-S or Stall Turn is complicated? If you can not read Aresti print the Narrative sheet. In time you will learn how to read Aresti Symbols.

Unfortunately, many 3D pilots can only fly 3D. Ask them to fly a straight line and they flunk. They can't fly a perfect loop or even a slow roll. Doesn't a torq roll look pathetic if it's shaking all over the place? How about a rolling harrier that looks more like an evasive maneuver? I'm not an IMAC pilot, but I love precision flight.

Casey....finish english class ( Relax...it is just a sarcastic joke) and then try Basic....
Learn Basic first... find a local pilot that is flying IMAC...
a loop and a straight line are tougher than they look....
and Have fun!

I just started IMAC this year and let me say this. I have always been a smooth flyer. I dont snap the plane where it is almost going to fall apart but it is going to take me all winter to practice for IMAC. I believe it is going to help me out a lot with my 3D flying. I have notice I am giving smaller inputs on my 3D manuvers making everything smoother looking. I would rather see a precision pilot fly with 3d than a 3D pilot. It is much harder to combind them both. Also freestyle is more than 3D it is also precision flying.
If you want to start IMAC start in basic. Just do basic for the first couple of contest to get the feel how the contest runs. Once you place 3rd or higher in at least 2 or 3 contest then move up a level and do the same for the next level.
