Okay, so we pulled the wool over your eyes back on April 1 with this prank, and since then, our community has been focused around the work of FlyingGiants member Eddie Weeks. In a very short amount of time, Eddie has developed a Variable Pitch (VP) system for giant scale gasser's and has posted his progress on our site in form of amazing photos, and video. Today we are pleased to announce that Eddie is the first person that we are aware of who has actually pulled off nose down hovering!!!! The proof is in the pudding.... While not quite on the deck like the smaller electrics, you can easily see the potential of what's coming next. Hmmmmmm.... Spinner bangin' at The Tucson Shootout anyone? I'll take that bet. Hats off to our bro from Louisiana! As many of you know, I've been absolutely nuts about this topic for the past few years, and we're about to see this go mainstream. Again, Eddie has pulled off the amazing, he's shared it with our community, and we're all stoked to have him here. Good work dude.

Next step is to setup a throttle pitch curve like the heli guys.. sort of a constant RPM and the throttle stick drives the pitch....

I have been following his thread on this unit, and its jaw dropping stuff. On top of which he has made it almost unbreakable!!!!

kool stuff, but I never seen the point of going backwards with an airplane.

It's not about flying backards. Variable pitch will open up a whole new bag of tricks. Time will only tell what there going to be. With VP we can control downline speeds, perform very tight tumbles, and the list goes on.

Once the system is done going through it's FMEA and a constant rpm can be maintained, it will be the hot ticket.
