Default What to buy?

Hi people,

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, or even if I should seeing as I'm a new member, but I waned to ask you experts out there what you would recommend I buy for a first time 3D electric plane. I've got 2 other planes, both petrol, and think I'd like to try 3D which looks way more fun.

I've seen loads on the market - just no idea what to go for. Any suggestions? (I like the Yak 55p by the way).

Thanks in advance

Richard

Hey Richard, good question. Honestly if you don't have a simulator that would be my first purchase. I have a couple and they have REALLY been a huge help. You can practice at night and on rainy days. They can help you from just learning to fly all the way through unlimited full on stick banging.

As far as fisrt electric 3D planes, couple schools of thought. Flat foam is quick to build, relatively inexpensive, super easy to repair and fly well. The built ups (balsa structure) take just a bit longer to get going fly extremely well and are pretty easy to repair.

The Extreme FLight Extra comes as an ARF, motor and speed controller included and is a real sweet heart. Low rates gives you an airplane that flies very well. High rates? Forget about it!! Super plane and super value.

Richard we always talk about developing muscle memorie for 3D flight. When you have the plane near the dirt (and you will!!) there simply isn't time to think about what input needs to happen. These reflexes can either be honed on a computer with a reset button or at the flying field with several bottles of CA.

Seems to be the general consensus is the Aero Flight pro deluxe is the sim to have. Real flight G3 is a good one as well. I have both. I think the Aero flight is a bit more realistic when it comes to 3D. But both are good.

Sorry for the novel guy. Glad to see you're pushing for more advanced flight! GO GET 'EM!!

Biff,

Can i just say thanks very much for your reply. Very much appreciated. I hope t obe able to give you a similar answer one day.

I will definitely look into a simulator. I have seen some around, mainly the AeroFlight, there isn't a huge choice here in Madrid. So you think it's worth spending the same on a Simulator as it is on a basic (if u will) 3D plane?

Me, I like to just get out there. I'll have a look around.

Thanks again mate.

I agree completely with Biff here, with the exception that I think G3 would be better for you. If you have high speed internet, you can fly online with other folks. They can also help you learn the moves and give you pointers if ya ask. G3 is a bit harder than AFPD though, but I think it is all around more realistic.

Brilliant - thanks 50.

I've got so much to learn!! Just looking at what I need for an electric plane - regulators, chargers, engines, etc - no idea what to look for. I need the full package I think, otherwise I'll buy whatever the shopguy tells me to and end up with a submarine!

I'll go for Simulator methinks.
