I've got the 23A on my QQ Yak with a DA50. It's a nice prop, has excellent pull, and great braking on the downlines. What's kind of peculiar about it is no matter what orientation or power setting (short of gliding, the plane always goes the same speed. Straight up full throttle, straight and level from half to full, and straight down at idle, the plane always moves at exactly the same speed. It's nice for making thisngs symmetrical, and it has significantly better pull out of the hover than the 22x10 NX I was running. I'm thinking about picking up a 23B to see if I end up with some range of speed. |

Ive got a DA50 with a cannister...reading with interest the progress with the 22&23's... Out of curiousity, any reports regarding noise and the two sizes? I am looking for something to suit IMAC applications. The DA50 with Cannister is mounted in the front of a composite-arf Extra 2x2. Cheers Haggy

Haggy, As soon as howie gets hold of the 22 & 23 inch vess props I have a 22B coming my way to try on my Ultimate (DA50 with slimline pitts muffler) I will be comparing to the bolly wood 22x8 I have on it now. As probably know I fly my ultimate in IMAC as well as goof around with some 3D stuff. If I like the vess I will be trying a 23A or B on my new extra (DA50 on a MTW75 canister) once the motor is run in. The props should be less than a week away. I'll keep ya posted.

I've flown the Vess 22B on my Taurus 3.2 engine and Wildhare Edge. You will be amazed how quiet your plane really is. When other planes are flying, it's hard to hear your own plane. I know props make a lot of noise, but I didn't realize how much noise they made untill I ran the Vess. If you have noise restrictions in the area you fly, This is the first step I would make to quiet my plane. Even if the noise isn't an issue, it's worth trying one of these beauties. It seems they've done their homework to get this prop to perform. It looks like we have another great choice to make when we order props. |

Excellent thanks Rusty. I am keen to see how they perform for the IMAC stuff. Not too interested in the 3D performance. Number one priorities for me in getting the right Vess prop are: Noise and IMAC performance. At present I am running the MTW75 on the DA50, with a Mejilik 23x8. Noise is excellent, very quite. Interested to see the results with the Vess. Cheers Haggy

From what I have read here the Vess props are very quiet and are out performing most carbon props. So they look promising, hopefully I get mine before Albury so I can test it in competion.

any new updates on the Vess. I have one on a EF Yak running a 23A vess on a CF Pipe and I am really like the prop. I had a handful of ones to see what fitted my needs: 22 x 8 Menz 22 x 8 Mejzlik 22A Vess 22 x 8 Xoar 23 x 8 Xoar I picked the 23A Vess 1st the 23 x 8 Xoar seem to have more of a twisting effect on the planes uplines. |

I fly a Vess 23A on a 3MM 53cc motor on a prototype 85" Yak 54 that weights in the 16lb range in IMAC. Like one of the other guys said, excellent downline braking and doesn't fly the plane very fast, pretty constant speed thru out the throttle. Doesn't fly the plane real fast, which is good for IMAC. Also pulls very good(unlimited vertical in my case). I also flew another prototype( 87" wing, 17.4lb, Yak 55sp) with the same motor and a 22B Vess. Flew just like the Yak 54. Maybe a little better because the plane is a little longer and a little bigger. I would say for light 50cc planes the 23A is the one and for heavier planes the 22B or A is the one.
