Darn... that stinks.
The KMP Edges FLY GREAT!

If you replace it I would stray away from the KMP yak... my yak was 3.9lbs heavier with the same equipment as I used in my edge.
Edge = 15.3 lbs.
Yak = 19.2 (yea!! woah!)

Good luck.. sorry for your loss.

PS: I learned this lesson 2 years ago... always... ALWAYS check the voltage of your batteries before your first flight. (Or each flight if you can) weird things can happen from 10pm till 9am the next day!

Wow! I had a li-on cell go to zero on my BME Edge this weekend. I checked that battery on the first flight and it was fine at 7.7 volts at one amp. Found the the battery dead prior to the next flight. Not sure if it failed in flight. Possibly failed from vibration.

I'm glad I decided to install redundant receiver batteries on this bird or else it could
have been toast..

Man, sorry to hear that Steven, losing a plane any time suck, but losing one because of a battery makes it hurt more. I always try to use 2 switch's and a batt share with 2 batteries.
Seems like we can handle a plane lose better if it not a dumb thumb, BUT, the cost of the lose is the same.
Hope you have a new one in the air soon.

Chuck

guys ive also been reading a lot that sometimes if you try to maximize the throw on digital servos, they can sometimes bind a bit (dont ask me how) and cause them to draw 2 even three times the normal amount. the same batterys that you once had for five flights essentially last for one. try cranking your throws down 5-10 degrees and see if that helps?

That really sucks. A friend at my field lost a Hagar 9 Edge from battery failure on the fourth flight. It's just absolutely terrible.

i was using a sanyo 6v 2200mah pac .the first flight went well. i checked it on the second flight and it was fine. 5 minutes in the plane started getting slugish. i wanted to bring her in but it was to late. the batery packs disintegrated on impact. luckily all servos receiver and motor is stil working . that 3w only had 2 flights on it. it looks like the spinner took alot of the impact. its in about 20 peices. here are some more pics of the crash. the impact left a 20cm deep hole in the ground . i started the motor tonight and runs just fine.
