Is the starting procedure the same for the super 80 as the older silver head 80? Max gave me a procedure that works great for the older 80...ignition and choke on, flip till she pops, ignition and choke off, one more flip to save the digits then rotate the prop backwards about ten times, ignition back on and she fires right up. Same needed for the super 80?

I have a ZDZ 80 RV blue head and,I never do the backwards thing... I do a choke with ign on, flip till pop, choke off, flip around 4 times..... running... After a good 15 min flight, usually will start 2 flips with choke off the rest of the day.

On my RV-J here's the procedure...it's straight up....no problems. Ing on.......Choke on...... Flip till it pops. Give it one more flip on choke Choke off.......flip It's usually running in a few flips. After the first flight of the day..... no choke.... it's running in no more than 2 flips. with switch OFF you can shake the spinner back n forth, bumping compressin - done rapidly this will pull fuel up the line quickly some like it some don't . test this with cowl off and an empty fuel line. the fuel should advance in a fairly even rapid fashion Many poor start setups are due to extremely minute leaks in fuel line connections or a sh-itty fuel valve- they are all shi-tty in my book |
