Iwatas are great. They are definately the best in the industry, but you do not have to spend that much money to get great results. The Pasche VL works well. Look for any double action airbrush where you can get parts easily. You need to get some extra tips and needles. As for a compressor, it depends on what you are painting. I have done airbrush work with a 1 gal. tank, but it is a pain! I now have a10 gal tank and it is plenty for what I do. For paints, a lot of people will tell you to use HOK (House of Kolor). These are great paints, but expensive and have some special handling precautions. I have used Createx Auto-Air with great results. They are water based - making cleanup easy and you do not need to wear a mask while painting. I have a plane that is in its 4th season and the paint has held up perfectly. Hope this helps. Keith |
