Hey guys, Here is the story: i bought a NX 30x10 prop for my Evolution 116CC, which was made out of very soft wood (the front spacer dug into it easily when tightning), which i used for break in on the bench. Since then that prop was replaced by NX due to it being too soft, and i was sent a new one. The new one vibrates badly when the motor is running. i took it put, balanced it (both blades and hub according to the DOD video) and it still vibrates badly when running. To test this i put back the old "soft" prop and all the vibes went away and engine runs smooth. With the softer prop when i put my hand on the aluminum landing gear, it is smooth, with the new one, it would kill your hand from vibration. Any ideas guys ? what do i do with this prop ? What is your opinion about 3W props ? i can get my hands on a 3W 28x10 to try.. thanks. PS - i have emailed NX about this and still didnt get a response. |

I do not like the 3w wood props at all, they just lug the engine down and do not pull like the other comparable props. See if troybuiltmodels will ship you a PT 30x10, should give you the performance you are looking for. As light as wood, spools up as fast, and pulls hard, awesom props.

I would stay away from the 28x10 on this motor, especially a wood prop, I tried 2 28's a bolly wood and mej. It was turning them at 75oo+ and the bolly seemed to really flaten out and just no performance what so ever. I would either get the PT or Mej 30x10 carbon fiber as the performance is great.
