Help! 3W75 carb

I just bought a new 3W75i and have a couple of questions about the carb setup. My first gasser was a DA-50 and, of course, there's a big difference between the walbro there and this tollotsen on the 3dub.
I've been reading a little about the static pressure port on this carb and how you need to run your vent line to somewhere in the plane where there is no turbulence and the pressure is, well, static.
I understand the operating principles of this diaphram pump but I would like to hear some ideas for setting up properly and getting it to run right.(tuning tips, prop selection, curious about the effects of the velocity stack too)
Brand new,I can't get the engine to idle below 2300rpm reliably. I've tried a 24,25 and 26X10 bolly, also tried the three blades.Still nothin. Any help, tips, info or pics are appreciated.

James

Is your engine a rear carb or side carb? If its a rear carb no need for the line in the fuse, and if its a side carb you may not need the vent like back into the fuse either. Usually the engines with the carb on the bottom of the engines, ie twins, has this problems, not the singles. Where do you have your needles set, and what fuel mix are you running? 24x10 or 25x10 is a good place to start with.

It's the side carb. I'm running lawnboy ashless @ 32:1 for break-in.The needles are set where the manual recommended but I have played with them a little to try and figure it out.The only way I can get the idle down is to really richen up the low needle and then it just loads up and transitions like crap. With the low needle leaned out, it transitions really well but has a high idle. If I blip the throttle, the rpms drop to about 1800 wich I can live with but gradually climb back up.

The tilotsen carb is very sensative, and especially when new. After you get a few gallons through it the idle will start to come down. Its just one of the ways that new 3Ws run, takes time to get them to the sweet spot. Only turn the needles 1/16fh of a time. The best way to set the low end on a 3w is to do this: Start the engine up for the first time, after it starts do not let it warm up, blip the throttle up to about half. If it takes the throttle and transitions fine being cold, its too rich. The sweet spot is when it is cold, when you blip it, it studders, but after warming up for about 20 seconds it takes the throttle no prob. Right around there is pretty optimum for the low end. Hope that makes sense.

ok. new question on the 3w75 carb. I was flipping the prop to start my engine and noticed that there was fuel dripping out of the carb. It only drips out when I rotate the prop.
When the engine is running you can see drops of fuel being blown back onto the concrete from the propwash.
Does this sound like a mechanical problem (i.e. pump diaphram) or is this more likely an adjustment problem.
I dont have much experience with these carbs so a little input would be mucho appreciated
