Hey guys I can't call DA until Monday but I leave town on Sunday for a week and I would like to get my engine fixed in that time if I had to get it fixed. My issue is that I got this engine in the summer and it ran excellent. I left for school August 30 and came back December 17, so it spent like 3.5 months without running. I tried running it when I came back and it started on the 4th flip like a DA would. The problem is that now, instead of taking 8-10 flips to pop with the choke on, it takes about 40-45 flips with the choke on for the gas to get to the carb. My friend says it's the carb diaphragm. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance!! |

Could be, try taking the carb apart and cleaning it out first, see if the pump diaphram is dried out, has a hole in it, etc. I have stored motors and had the same thing happen, but some of them work fine. Any Lawnmower/Saw Shop should have the parts for the carb. My DA 50 is in storage also, I will probably be doing the same thing as soon as I get home. Tom |

I had a similar problem recently. After not running my DA 50 for a few months I tried to start it and it would not draw fuel. So I took the diaphragm plate off and pushed on the needle a few times to make sure it was moving freely. Put it back together and it would draw fuel just fine. Started right up and ran great.
