Help! Speed Controller with TME Smoke pump

Ok, so after all these years of listening to the fact that gassers produce the best smoke, I got myself a Slimline Pitts muffler with STI smoke fittings for the DA 50. I had a TME pump lying around ( which I had used with marginal success some years ago on glow) which I hooked up. Made sure to mix the smoke channel with throttle so that it comes on only after 1/3 or so. During the (smoke) test flight, I started getting white smoke even without turning the pump on, as if the oil was getting sucked into the muffler. Once the pump was turned on, I got good smoke at idle but not much at higher throttle settings. Not enough oil I guess.

SO here's the question. Instead of tuning the flow to a setting which produces max smoke at a given throttle setting, is it not possible to throw a speed controller into the equation and mix it with the throttle on a multi point mix? I believe the latest Sullivan smoke pump offers this facility but I do not want to spend another $80 if I can get away with just adding the ESC. Radio is a 9CAP so I have the extra channel to play around with.

TIA,
Aamer

Get the TME smart smoker. It comes w/ everything you need. Check valve etc... and a speed controler for the pump. Call them, maybe they can send you the controler only.
