Default Luck.bad luck.

Story time..
guy at our local club, Scott, very good pilot. had one of the first 37.5 yaks and had the structural wing failure doing a parachute, put that in, sends in a complaint, gets a replacement yak (it was supposed to be going to Jason Noll but he didn't want it) so he gets it, starts flying it, Battery #2 cuts out, killing the engine and everything on the left side of the plane, can't get the plane to come around, goes down into the trees...

so off hunting we go.

we find the plane wedged in probably 8-10 foot very skinny trees, we get a ladder, take the wings off and bring it down, the only thing wrong with the plane is a little bit of broken balsa on the fuselage under the wing, very fixable.

hes in a great mood, i am too. never want to see a plane go in, he's just glad he didn't lose his second plane in about 2 months.

so he gets out his heli... flys around great, goes inverted a few times, then goes inverted, engine starts to bog, he trys to flip it over and pull out, bam. right into the ground. broke the blades and bent some stuff, very fixable.

so what do you think? is it bad luck that he crashed his second big plane, or good luck that there wasnt anything wrong with it?

im amazed, were all amazed the thing made it out.

Anytime something is repairable, with minimal damage it is good luck.

you are correct, he had a troy built battery on one side and something diff. on the other, his troy built cut out but only because it was overcharged.
